Children need to be properly restrained in a child safety seat until they are at least:
- 8 years old
- are taller than 4-foot, 9-inches
- weigh more than 80 lbs
All passengers must wear a safety belt, regardless of the age and where they are seated. All children age 12 and younger should ride in the back seat.
