U.S. 45 (LaGrange Rd.) Median Repairs
Mayor Hastings has announced the May 6th start of construction to remove and replace the median along US 45 (LaGrange Rd.) from 131st Street to 179th Street.
The preliminary work includes median removal, construction of temporary pavement and storm sewer work.
The project will require traffic lanes to be reduced during construction activities, which will occur mostly during nighttime hours. Daytime lane closures will occur between 6am and 2:30pm. Nighttime lane closures will occur between 7pm and 6am. The expected completion date of this first phase of the project is July 26, 2013.
Motorists can expect delays during times when the lane closures are in effect and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to the signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
The work being performed this spring is in preparation for the 2-year US 45 Roadway Reconstruction and Widening Project scheduled to begin this year.
