Mayor Hastings and the Village Board are pleased to announce the recent completion of the Meadowview Drive and Haven Avenue road re-surfacing. The Village wasable to fund over $850,000.00 in Federalfunds through the Illinois Department ofTransportation for this project with only a20% share of the total.  The Meadowview Drive paving and new accessible crosswalks from 88th Avenue to 94th Avenue nicely complement the Ashbourne Lake pedestrian paths and new trees that were planted over the last two years.

The new curbs, ADA crosswalks and paving on Haven Avenue from Meadowview Drive to 167th Street are the last pieces of the puzzle to connect the north side of the Village to the Recreation Center and Kelly Park.

On the south side of the Village, the street re-surfacing project was funded with Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds received from the State of Illinois.

We know that the Westwood Drive, and 89th Avenue re-surfacing, new curbs and patching on 92nd Avenue are just part of the many streets that need to be re-surfaced in the Village of Orland Hills. Just a small effort like this improves neighborhood quality and safety for you as a resident and helps to maintain and improve your property values.

Mayor Hastings added “I have asked for more money from the State of Illinois for additional road rehabilitation and we are still waiting for the Governor to release the grant money that was allocated to Orland Hills for the north side of town. We will see when the funds will continue to flow.”
