FOR THE REGULAR VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND HILLS, ILLINOIS
FOR JANUARY 6, 2010
President Hastings called the meeting to order at 8:04 p.m.
Clerk Burke called the roll with the following results. Present: President Kyle R. Hastings, Clerk Burke, Trustees: O'Neill, Roti, Janachowski, Hanley, Morrison and Gnech, Administrator Daly, Attorney Shine-Hermes, Recreation Director Bilina, Building Commissioner Ennesser and Deputy Chief Blaha. Absent: Public Works Director Worley, Chief Scully and ESDA Director Leddin.
With a quorum having been established, a salute to the flag was proffered.
President’s Report: President Hastings.
Mayor Hastings read aloud Resolution # 2010-1001, Establishing the Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau (CSCVB) as the Village’s Bureau of Record. Trustee Roti moved, seconded by Trustee O’Neill to approve Resolution # 2010-1001, Establishing the Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau (CSCVB) as the Village’s Bureau of Record, as presented. Ayes: Trustees: O’Neill, Roti, Janachowski, Hanley, Morrison and Gnech. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED.Mayor Hastings read into the record Proclamation # 2010-1002, Martin Luther King Day.

Clerk’s Report: Clerk BurkeClerk Burke requested support of a motion to approve the minutes of the Regular Village Board Meeting of the Village President and the Board of Trustees for December 16, 2009, as presented. Motion made by Trustee Janachowski, seconded by Trustee Gnech. Ayes: Trustees: O’Neill, Roti, Janachowski, Hanley, Morrison and Gnech. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED. Clerk Burke requested support of a motion to approve the relocation of the January 20, 2010 Regular Village Board Meeting to the Community Ceneter, located at 16553 S. Haven Avenue. Motion made by Trustee O’Neill, seconded by Trustee Gnech. Ayes: Trustees: O’Neill, Roti, Janachowski, Hanley, Morrison and Gnech. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED.Administrator’s Report: John A. Daly.
Administrator Daly requested support of a motion to approve the hiring of Robert Bilina and Randy Samoska as Part-Time Public Works Snowplowers at the starting rate of pay of $15.00 per hour, subject to the successful completion of pre-employment testing and position. Motion made by Trustee Gnech, seconded by Trustee O’Neill. Ayes: Trustees: O’Neill, Roti, Janachowski, Hanley, Morrison and Gnech. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED.Administrator Daly reported that the Fire & Police Commission have scheduled the advertising of and implementation of testing for entry level police position.

Trustee O’Neill moved, seconded by Trustee Morrison to approve Warrant #09-10-34; being all regular bill payments for this period, which report is titled as “Miscellaneous Accounts Payable,” and which report is dated January 6, 2010, in the amount of $84,834.14. Ayes: Trustees: O’Neill, Roti, Janachowski, Hanley, Morrison and Gnech. Nays: None. Absent: None. MOTION CARRIED.Developmental, Planning & Zoning: Trustee Gnech - No report at this time.
